Hi Tam, not at all - I removed all the color and then I messed with the brightness/contrast settings - took it way out of whack. And that is pretty much it!
Your little blog photo is an example of the appeal B&W photography has - to me, anyway... I love color, but I have to say I love the absence of color equally as much!
I think black and white sets a mood that color just can't do sometims. Though there are photos that would certainly be missing something if they were not in color. :)
