One good thing: my sister brought my newest niece into the world today, welcome, baby Sydney Jean, we love you already!
Another good thing: my lens arrived!
And another good thing - the minute I stepped out the door with it, this beautiful
cooper's hawk sharp-shinned hawk was just sitting there waiting for me.
What a day! Welcome Baby Sydney Jean, how exciting! Those photos are amazing. What a great branch to land on. You got your lens, I got my Elements 10. Now I need to install it.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Maggie! That's Maggie, our Magnolia Tree's branches :) LOL, everything has a name around here. Good luck with the install, I'm sure you'll love the extra features.
DeleteDeleted my old post because I didn't think I could use my iPhoto with my new Elements, but I have since figured it out. Not digging the upgrade, but I'm sure I'll love it once I get used to how they moved everything to a new place just to confuse us.
ReplyDeleteI love that you have a tree name Maggie and I love Magnolia trees. They were everywhere around Los Angeles and my neighbor has one here just on the other side of my fence.
oh, I'm glad you figured that out, did you still order the new os upgrade? What a pain! If you don't get the hang of it real soon, watch Kim's skinny mini tutorial - I learned a lot about my upgrade from that. I have a smaller workspace though, and I don't know how to fix that yet. I bought a book, but haven't had a chance to look.
ReplyDeleteNew life..how wonderful. Your photos of the hawk are both beautiful and stunning. He is looking right at you in the last one.
ReplyDeleteWhat is the lens you purchased? You certainly got up nice and close with it!
jenni
Hi Jenni, I got a Nikon 55-300 - I'm really happy with it! I am looking forward to really playing with it soon, I snapped about a 100 shots waiting for this guy to fly and then missed it when I thought I'd snap a picture of the dog - poof - gone!
DeleteBeautiful shots of the hawk. We have a hawk that flies over on a regular basis.....he would love to breakfast on our budgies and cockatiels which are in outdoor cages. He is beautiful but I don't really want him visiting my birds.
ReplyDeleteMarilyn, I hear you, I am really nervous about letting my chickens out to free range anytime soon.
DeleteWow - that are truely great shots! Espescially the last one!
ReplyDeleteGreetings, Michi
Thank Michi :)
DeleteWow, this hawk is sooo cute (just love the last photo :)) )
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Tatyana
Thank you! I put that one up for my son, I was hoping it would make him laugh :)
DeleteCongrats on your new neice, very exciting!! Love the Hawk, nice shots!!
